Lena’s appointment to The Research Society’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee & Lena’s membership to the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative - Research and Data Group
2022 has been the year of the return to face-to-face major meetings and conferences in Australia's research, evaluation and multiculturalism sector.
Cultural Perspectives and CIRCA attended the FECCA 22 Conference, and it was there that the creation of the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative (AMHC) was announced. The AMHC will be a network of individuals and organisations working at a national level to give voice to the broad health and well-being needs, including research, of Australia's cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. CIRCA's Director, Lena Etuk, has been designated as part of their Research & Data group, which seeks to advance a research and evidence base that can advocate for change in multicultural health.
Later in the year, the Human Insights Conference, organised by The Research Society (TRS), took place. There, CIRCA's Director co-facilitated the launch of a reinvigorated Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Committee for the Society. Lena had been appointed to the committee earlier in the year. The role of TRS’ DEI Committee is to advise the CEO of TRS and help TRS provide guidance to industry members on how best to be inclusive within our organisations and be inclusive in our research methodologies for our clients.
