The Victorian Government today announced a plan to invest $10.5 million into helping culturally diverse Victorians escape family violence.
Following the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and a 10-year plan “Ending Family Violence: Victoria’s Plan for Change”, the Victorian Government revealed a series of programs including a landmark $1.8 million pilot program in collaboration with migrant and refugee organisations to change attitudes and behaviours, supporting multicultural groups over four-year period, as well as capacity building and participation programs.
Grants up to $150,000 will be open in early 2018 for relevant organisations to apply to support family violence projects.
