With over 300 events and a rich programme, the annual Sydney Writers’ Festival brings ideas and issues that bring to life all types of literature. This year, the festival will be held on 22-28 May with an even more attractive programme than previous years.
For some fresh and innovative perspectives, we love the student sessions, designed for students in years 9 to 12, to introduce students to the world of ideas beyond the classroom. The session titled “Mono or Multi-cultured in particular will bring together three local figures Randa Abdel-Fattah, Yassmin Abdel-Magied, and Joy Lawn, to examine the issue of racism, multiculturalism and human rights in Australia nowadays and to discuss what contemporary multiculturalism looks like.
