Dunya Alruhaimi is from Iraq, and is living and studying as an international student in Armidale. Currently studying a Master of Education at the University of New England, she is actively involved in helping local Iraqi women and mothers by volunteering as an Arabic translator, organising swimming lessons and driving lessons.
Given a choice of going to America, Great Britain or Australia, Dunya chose to come to Australia due to family connections and prior experience undertaking training courses here. She is especially keen to improve her teaching skills and transfer her education training back to her home country.
