Following its success in 2016, the SBS National Languages Competition comes back this year in celebration of love of learning languages. It is a nationwide competition to engage school children and reflect on the cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity of Australia’s multicultural society.
If you’re under 18 and are learning a language other than English, shoot a short video of yourself in any language other than English sharing your passion for learning languages and you have the chance to win this competition.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) 2016 Census data shows that there are currently approximately 426 different languages spoken at home in Australia. This compares to 418 languages spoken at home in the 2011 Census.
The competition entry closes at Midnight on Friday 1 September 2017 (AEST). Please join to share your love of language!
