About the role
The Group Account Director (maternity leave cover) role is a full-time position based at our Redfern office in Sydney, reporting to the Director Communications and Engagement. As a senior member of Cultural Perspectives, the Group Account Director will lead the communications team working across a diverse client portfolio of government, non-government and corporate sector clients.

Responsibilities
Oversee and develop integrated communication strategies, from big to small campaigns.
Provide senior oversight and guidance on key client accounts.
Develop and implement communication strategies for client accounts while overseeing tactical teams and campaigns on delivery.
Provide strategic counsel and issues/crisis support to clients as required.
Successfully craft strategies, pitches and win new business.
Lead the Communications team in the successful implementation of campaigns and retained relationships, via responsive client service, exceptional quality, creative ideas and insights.
Identify and implement client growth and retention strategies and tactics.
Provide ongoing oversight, coaching and performance support for your team’s learning, development, personal growth, and successful delivery across all requirements.
Lead the relationships and delivery management of our major clients and retained accounts.
Work collaboratively and strategically within Cultural Perspectives’ interdisciplinary team to deliver genuinely integrated campaigns across earned, owned, paid and shared media channels and content, including community engagement and research.
Report on and oversee the Communication department’s financial and operational performance.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality services or campaigns, ensuring they align with agreed-upon standards and objectives.
Participate in the agency leadership team to support financial and operational goals.
Collaborate with other senior leaders to seek opportunities to improve agency culture, operations, effectiveness and systems.
Selection criteria
To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
An understanding of communications with and engagement of linguistically and culturally diverse communities (communicating in cross-cultural environments).
Demonstrated capacity or previous experience to design and deliver communication and public relations strategies.
Experience in communications in advertising, campaigning, marketing, public relations, media relations, public affairs or community advocacy-related work (minimum 4 years).
Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to work in a hands-on team on multiple projects and tasks concurrently and manage budgets, timelines and deadlines efficiently.
Experience in leading and developing a team
Demonstrated ability to show initiative and to think creatively.
Strong writing, editing and verbal skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff with a positive mindset and adaptable to changes.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Understanding and experience with media monitoring (e.g. Meltwater/Prowly/iSentia or similar) and EDM platforms (e.g. Mailchimp or similar)
Strong competency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (public relations, communications, or similar).
